About the studio

On the borders of rural Suffolk and Norfolk you will find an area called the Waveney Valley.

Church Cottage Studio is a tranquil off the beaten track shopping experience, a barn sale meets a brocante, full of art and antiques.. Surrounded by meadows and nature the studio is set within the grounds of a Tudor house which dates back to the 1600’s

Owner Janice is a photographer, maker and painter who also has a passion for anything old and beaten up, hence the ancient house and ramshackle gardens.

On certain weekends during the year the studio will fling open its barn doors to the public, (although visits can be made by appointment). In 2026 the inaugural opening will be in June for the month of Suffolk Open Studios.

Available will be original oil paintings by Janice, many other hand made items and a large selection of vintage and antique art and collectables, lots of retro studio pottery, old stoneware, furniture and decorative objets d’art.
